What are Wealth Stars in BaZi?
Wealth Stars (财星 Caixing) in BaZi represent your financial potential, money-making ability, and relationship with material resources. They are one of the Ten Gods (十神 Shishen) and are determined by the element that your Day Master controls.
In the Five Elements cycle, when your Day Master element controls another element, that controlled element becomes your Wealth. For example, if your Day Master is Wood, it controls Earth, so Earth becomes your Wealth element.
Direct Wealth
Direct Wealth (正财 Zhengcai) occurs when the Wealth element has a different polarity (Yin/Yang) than your Day Master. It represents stable, steady income, traditional employment, and reliable financial sources. Think of it as your regular salary or consistent earnings.
Indirect Wealth
Indirect Wealth (偏财 Piancai) occurs when the Wealth element has the same polarity as your Day Master. It represents unexpected income, investments, side businesses, and non-traditional money sources. Think of it as bonuses, investment returns, or entrepreneurial ventures.

Wealth Star Count
The number of Wealth stars in your Four Pillars indicates how much financial energy you naturally attract. More Wealth stars generally suggest stronger financial potential, but balance is key—too many can indicate financial stress or over-focus on money.
Wealth Star Strength
The strength of your Wealth stars depends on their position (Year, Month, Day, or Hour pillar) and whether they're in their favorable season. Strong Wealth stars in the right positions can indicate excellent financial opportunities.
Wealth Vault
The Wealth Vault (财库 Caiku) is a special Earthly Branch that stores your Wealth element. If your Day Master is Water and Wealth is Fire, the Dog branch (戌 Xu) acts as the Fire Storage, creating a Wealth Vault. This can indicate the ability to accumulate and preserve wealth.
