What is the Day Master?
The Day Master (日主 Rizhu) is the Heavenly Stem of your Day Pillar in BaZi astrology. It represents YOU - your core personality, character, and essence. This is the single most important character in your entire BaZi chart.
Think of your Day Master as the central reference point for understanding your entire chart. All other elements in your BaZi (Year, Month, Hour pillars) are analyzed in relation to your Day Master to reveal your strengths, weaknesses, natural talents, and life path.
Your Core Self
The Day Master represents your true self - who you are at your deepest level. It shows your natural personality traits, character, and how you express yourself in the world.
The Reference Point

Understanding Your Day Master Element
Your Day Master belongs to one of the Five Elements, and each element has unique characteristics:
Wood Day Master
Growth-oriented, creative, flexible. Like a tree, you grow upward and outward. You're naturally artistic, compassionate, and value harmony. You may struggle with rigidity or being too accommodating.
Fire Day Master
Energetic, passionate, expressive. Like fire, you're dynamic, enthusiastic, and bring light to others. You're naturally charismatic, optimistic, and action-oriented. You may need to watch for burnout or being too impulsive.
Earth Day Master
Stable, practical, nurturing. Like earth, you provide foundation and support. You're reliable, patient, and good at building things. You may struggle with being too conservative or resistant to change.
Metal Day Master
Precise, disciplined, structured. Like metal, you're strong, organized, and value order. You're naturally analytical, decisive, and good at cutting through complexity. You may need to watch for being too rigid or critical.
Water Day Master

Yin and Yang
